Happy Fact Friday! We’ve got some more fun (if somewhat creepy) facts. Today we’re looking at spiders.
1. There are around 40,000 species of spiders, and the one thing they have in common is that they all produce silk.
2. However, not all spiders spin webs with it.
3. Some species of jumping spiders can see colors that we can’t, including UVB and UVA light.
4. Spider-Man may be truer to life than we think, since spider web is stronger and tougher than steel.
5. While thought of as lone hunters, some species of spider work together to build huge community webs to trap prey together.
6. Lastly, and most horrifying… female spiders can lay up to 3,000 eggs at a time.
